Average home insurance cost

Hi All,
Know this is probably impossible to say but can anyone give me a rough idea how much home insurance might be?
Am trying to figure out budgets etc for a property myself and my boyfriend are keen to buy
It's for a 3 bed semi-detatched property in Orpington - Kent.
Would be buildings and contents.
Any kind of rough estimation of the absolute most we would be looking at would be really helpful.
Thanks,
Laura

Depends on level of cover you want but as a rough guess you would be looking at about £40-£60 per month. Why not use a comparison website to give you more of an idea??0 -
My buildings and contents is a total of £13 a month.

Thank you - also do I need to have life insurance and what are the rough costs of this?

£300,000 buildings cover including accidental damage cover plus
£40,000 contents cover including accidental damage cover. £100 excess.
Monthly premium £39.35 inc IPT with Paymentshield. Not intended as a recommendation. Merely the fastest quote system available to me.
Laura - we can't tell you the cost of life cover without knowing how much cover you need, how long for, do you want the cheapest form of mortgage cover which decreases and have either of you smoked at any time in the last 12 months?I am a mortgage broker.
