General Rant ... Quick to take our money BUT sloooooow to issue refunds!!

Sorry but I have to have a wee rant after having two days of chasing up refunds and Groupon / KGB codes NOT WORKING....
The payment I made was INSTANT obviously so why on earth can they not issue a SIMPLE REFUND ( or new code ) without me having to chase them up again and again and practically have a FIGHT with them to just get what is due back to me in a decent time scale!!! :mad:
Its infuriating as its so 'quick to take' but 'dead slow to release' and even thats after major chasing up / WASTING LOTS of money on phone calls / sending e-mails etc etc etc ......

When they take the money the process is automated. A refund requires human intervention. Not difficult to see why one will take longer than the other?Gone ... or have I?0

But how LOOOOOOOOONG does that 'human intervention' take ... I had to chase up Damart for MONTHS & approx 5 long phone calls to 0844 to get my refund finally issued!
( Surely they just have to press a button , or two to get the refund 'issued' @ least? )
Same once they have received a returned item?

I'm sure LOADS of other people have had to chase up refunds before and understand the frustration caused....
I only wanted to have a rant because its happened to me on around 4-5 occasions recently as am waiting for approx 4 refunds / issues to be sorted and they never get back to you when / if promised either
I am not actually unintelligent to realise a payment is 'instant' and a refund takes time to be issued - Just don't understand / get frustrated when the phone call to chase it up ends up costing more than the refund!
Plus why should I nearly always have to 'chase it up' for example an item is OOS , they know the item was not sent to me so whats wrong with a pretty or fairly prompt refund after the fact???
