Faulty toaster after 3 months

One side of the toast is great and the other very pale/under cooked.

Was hoping to return this under SOGA.

Does 3 months seem like a reasonable lifespan for a £50 toaster? I know that they can be temperamental at the best of times.

I dont have the packaging but do have the receipt. Is this a problem?

You are entitled to have it repaired.

The shop may replace or refund, but that is up to them.

So if I just take it in with the receipt and ask them to repair it / replace it?

Then they will. Stand your ground, and be aware it may take a wee while to fix.

Unless it's a dodgy shop, I highly doubt they'd bat an eyelid about swapping a 3 month old faulty toaster. I certainly wouldn't.

You don't need any of the packaging, the receipt will do fine. Given the way some shops distrust their customers, you may want to take in a piece of faulty toast to show the extent of the problem as well.
