I am going through redundancy,i have a leaving date of the 4th of May.
I rang my HR dept today, to ask when my redundancy money will be paid to me,they told me it would the normal pay day of the 27th of the month.
Therefore i will have to wait to the end of the month.
Is this usual?
never having been made redundant before this is all new territory.

Fairly common practice, use the normal payroll facilities to reduce costs and admin.
Some companies trust there employees and pay in the previous months payroll if the termination dates a re close enough after payment0 -
I'm being made redundant at the end of July and we've already been advised that our redundancy pay will be paid into our bank accounts mid August. We usually get paid on the 23rd of the month, so this will go in around 10 days earlier than usual.

My usual pay date is the 25th of the month (or the Friday before if the 25th falls on a weekend/bank holiday), and any redundancy payments are paid on the 9th of the month after you're made redunant.
So it's common practice in that it's what the company you are being made redundant from handle redundancy payments.0
