Faster payments have payment transfer limits. So not necessarily any "faster" in some instances. Hence same day Chaps for larger sums may be the preferered option if the money is required in a hurry.
Actually it's now £100,000 per payment limit for single faster payments [but it depends on any limits imposed by the sender's bank too - Barclays in the case of Prin BS] Not many people will have that much to collect and it's those rich ones the £37.50 fee is going to capture. Multiple faster payments sent the same day are expressly allowed too [again, it's only the sender's bank which will have made up a policy about 'daily limits' and such nonsense]

Never put tables and chairs in the same room.
If they congregate together for any length of time, they will inevitably hatch plots against you and your pets.

Barclays £100,000 is for Corporate customers.

Why didn't you state Santanders £300 limit?

Principality BS isn't a member of the faster payments scheme currently.

I could have my matured funds in 3 days with a BACS payment but with a cheque the money will be uninvested for up to two weeks! That's what I am moaning about:(
When banks/BSs treat me badly I complain, and have often received compensation. You must not care about their dirty tricks!

Plus the small but real risk that the cheque goes astray in the post.
