It is Biblical - like many deeply held beliefs the MSE ethos is constantly evolving and personal.
When I first started browsing MSE I would say I was financially immature and naive. I didn't feel comfortable haggling or using mocs and thought I had no financial power.
I am infinitely better off now - in material terms and in confidence with money issues.
This site is THE site I always recommend for anyone looking for advice. It is a new kind of democracy and although I am not completely delighted with everything I read here, I am glad the site exists in its current form.

Anyone else put down MSE as answer to the religion question on the census form?

  • I certainly walk on water when any coupons are accepted nowadays - lol. So, the biblical comment could have foundation.

I agree but people should care about RPI and CPI. Housing benefit is about to be based on RPI rather than CPI. Because RPI excludes housing costs (and therefore doesn't track them) it means in 10 years time those on benefit won't be able to live in the South East.

Since when did 'biblical' mean huge, enormous, etc?
    "Biblical proportions" means big.

But I also think that they mean that what Martin / MSE says is "treated as gospel".

No, because you are not meant to fill it in until the 27th ;)

Hmm - it must be the killing of the 'Refund and Replace' policy stung them even more painfully than was thought at the time :)

I wonder if we can achieve the same with 'Double the Difference'...
    I think....

I filled in the census on-line. You can do that now based on what your position will be on 27th March.

I am not expecting my MSE religion to change over the next 5 days, unless the weekly email reveals that Martin has sold his soul to the devil.

According to wikipedia 'any apparently superhuman achievement might be credited to a pact with the Devil' so it does concern me that the superhuman achievement of MSE and the creation of the MSE community may have been achieved by such a pact :eek::eek:

There's one small problem. RPI includes housing costs, CPI doesn't. If it's really changing from CPI to RPI that'll be a good thing for those on benefits.
