iPhone 5 - Contract change

I've just received a call from Orange, giving me the option to increase me 18month contract (due to end June) until September.
I was planning on upgrading to the iPhone 5 as soon as it comes out. I know the past releases have always been around the second week in June but Orange stated that their ETA was Jan 2012 originally and now it's Oct 2011 (From Apple)
Does anyone have any further info?
Anyway, I've extended my contract by a further 3 months until September and this is saving me £26 a month for the exact same contract. any other iPhone users waiting for the upgrade might want to consider doing the same.

I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!

No one will know for sure. Apple do not give out dates before the release to anyone.
That's just Orange's best guess. Phones 4u were saying the same thing about the iphone 4 last year around this time. It's all pure speculation.0 -
There have been no announcements regarding the iPhone 5, but I would expect it June/July time as always. I would say that Orange fed you a line to get you to sign up.0

No one knows yet, people said it would be early this year, some have said June 5-9 at the the Apple WWDC.. but nothing confirmed yet.0

That's what I thought, she said she was confident that it wouldn't be until October at the earliest..
So I made her put a note on saying I can upgrade at anytime should it be released any earlier, so I don't lose out either way really.
When did Apple announce the release dates for the iPhone4?I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!0 -
On the 7th June, released 24th June.0

at the wwdc June 2010.. however there was lots of hype and a proto type found in a bar weeks before hand :T0

Hmmm, I think I might cancel the extension to the upgrade then and go on to sim only to tide me over.
Thanks for the replies.I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!0 -

Thanks for the replies.
If you are saving £26 per month, you probably are on a sim only, I agree with the others, sounds like you have been spun a line0 -
Don't believe a word Orange say. They are complete liars as i have recently found out in regards to both their broadband and mobile services. Broadband dutched and mobile will be as soon as contract up. Will never touch them again with a bargepole.0

I asked if it was sim only and its not, it's a 'contract extension'.
They said i can do sim only starting next month which is what i'm going to do.pah007 wrote:Don't believe a word Orange say. I don't have a choice about going with Orange unfortunately, Orange is the only network which works at my place of workI would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!0
