Erm, don't want to be the one to point this out, but I was replying to your comment.

Not bad, but I like onions.............not keen on garlic, will put this on the shortlist0 -
Is there a big price difference between a 3yr old Laguna and a 3yr old Mondeo? If not, I'd be going for the Mondeo.
If there is a big price difference, then I guess the Laguna could be a good buy, having never driven one I have no comments on them, other than they look quite attractive in estate form.0 -
But Tatas are actually good, albeit primitive.

What, just because they're made in India?

I have been told by a couple of people that the new Laguna is a nice drive, and I must admit that for a family car it looks good, though Sport Tourer, the hatch looks a bit ungainly.
A 3 yr old Mondeo will be more expensive than a Laguna, that is the main attraction, the mk3 Mondeo lost a lot of money after 3 yrs which is why I have one now, it was just too cheap to pass up.
This is partly my reasoning on considering a Laguna, the fact that I have had loads of Renaukts and my parents had 80% Renaults over the years, with a couple of Fords, a 131 Mirafiori and the rest Peugeots. So I actually like the way French cars drive.
Also the quality, economy and drivability of the wifes Clio on a 56 plate has been an eye opener, and it is only a middle range vehicle, not a fancy one with all the toys.
But I think everybody knows that sometimes Renault ownership can have painful financial risks if it all goes wrong.
Though I must admit that I haven't really been hit hard over the years, but know a few Private Hire drivers that had big problems with Laguna 2's, Espace's and a couple of Scenic's.
And just so the usual suspects know, doing market research for future reference on a Jaguar doesn't mean that you will only ever buy a Jaguar XF during the rest of your natural life.
It is considered reasonable to feel the need to buy another car at some point. But then some people only post on here to try and ruin threads, rather than try to assist anything feeding their ego.
So now that this possibly risky urge has surfaced I am looking for some good reasons to not buy, I can see where this is going. I can see me buying one in the next 6 months, especially as lots of the new shape ones will start to come out of lease soon.
Now, saying it is French is working in a garlic eating surrender monkley kind of way, but sadly the bit about the Tourer going back after three faultless years of use, now that won't do atall.
I like leather and have seen some really stylish wood trim in some....................................:D0
