Ok several problems i would like to clear up.
1) Whenever i play videos on my pc i get lines, only say 3 on the screen interrupting the play. It almost looks like the screen is spliting it into 3 parts and there slightly mislaligned. I tried print screen to show you but it stalls vid for a sec to take so you dont get to see any lines.
2)While trying to take print screen i put Tokyo Drift into dvd drive tried to play in windows meda player encoutered copyright failure.(It's a real DVD) Tried PowerCinema got macrovision failure. Tried Nero Showtime worked fine.
3)Not so much a problem more an inquiry. Originally I thought problem 1) was due to hardware acceleration but its on full so thought graphics card. Tried run command of dxdiag but found n/a for my device. So thought must be onboard graphics. Not a whizz when it comes to graphics so i hope you can help i have ATI Radeon XPress 200 (RS480) chipset which is 128mb
SPEC HERE: http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?i=spec_chipset_ATIRS480&ppn=PB34225301
Is this any good? and does this take 128mb off off my ram as my ram always say like 384 instead of 512. Also it mentions Radeon XPress 200(M) Video if that helps....
SPEC HERE: http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?i=spec_video_radeonxpress200&ppn=PB34225301
Also while your here does my motehrboard have PCI-E rather than AGP and is that better. All info is here http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?i=spec_orion&ppn=PB34225301 and its an imedia 1428
rather a lot but i thought one big thread is better than lots of little ones hope someone can help on some matters. all comments appreciated

The ATI Radeon 200 Graphics is not too hot for games and yes it uses shared memory which means it "borrows" video memory from your main computer memory rather than using its own dedicated video ram. So your PC showing 384MB ram instead of 512MB would be expected.Grocery Challenge 2008

Having said that I imagine it should play videos ok.....
I would do the following....
go to the hewlett packard website and download the latest drivers/updates for your pc. This usually fixes alot of problems.
Failing that go to the atitech website and install the latest driver for your graphics card. (The install should include directx within it provided the ATI Radeon 200 graphics is DX9 compatable).
Video playback problems can also be caused by video codecs not working properly etc so I would....
(1) Install latest windows media player with all updates
(2) Install a codec pack like k-lite (from filehippo.com) --- there are more knowledgable people than me in here who know about the best video codecs.
Sometimes uninstalling and reinstalling your dvd playback software can resolve these issues.
ok enough for now....
Basically update all drivers and install all updates for windows and win media player first.
