Hi all, help please

Aerial is 2 yrs old, looks the same as the new/'digital' ones in shops now.
Purchased 2 freeview boxes. One new/Bush/£25, the other at a car boot £25/Sagem PVR 7280T. The Sagem is also a recorder,, to replace my VCR (well that was the thought !). Bush set up was no problem.

(OK I know the Sagem is oldish and 2nd hand, but......)

Set up is aerial > Sagem > Bush, ie arial into and out of Sagem, then carries on to the Bush in another room.

PROBLEM. Since Sagem set up/retune, was fine, but I do not get BBC1/2/3, BBC News, CBBC, R1x. I do get BBC4 Cbees, Parliament, all radio stations. I understand that these are all part of the same bundle/signal (on Channel 41).
I have retuned automatically, and manually, for Channels 41/44/51/47/52/55, ie groups 1-6
(all this from digitaluk.co.uk)
I have done all this dozens of times !!! still no BBC 1/2/3

Signal from Sutton Coldfield mast. Their site says no work going on. Someone at Sagem says there is, so .. ?
Have swopped boxes over, retun, still no difference. So no differnce being nearer/further from the earial/signal
How is it that the cheap Bush picked up the BBC channels and not the Sagem.
AERIAL - worked fine before I connected the boxes. IF it was 'slightly out', would it really not pick up BBC on only one, out of two boxes ? Confused and frustrated

I'm not sure if it applies to that specific make/model, but I recall that a couple of years ago they made a change to the way in which the multiplexes were transmitted (IIRC by increasing a number range), and that some freeview receivers were no longer able to receive all multiplexes.

If memory serves me correctly (and it may well not be) the changes also made a mess of the EPG on some models as well.

The only solution was a firmware update, but many manufacturers were not willing to put the effort into developing and distributing an update - which may explain why yours appeared at a car boot sale...
