Then many of us on here have broken the law (not)!
I ignored a private PCN over 2 years ago when my car was parked for too long in a Supermarket car park. Some people here have ignored dozens of fake PCNs and collect them for fun! I am just an ordinary Mum of four with a responsible job and clean record - and I laughed at these chancers!
Just ignore the debt collector threatograms, have a look in our top sticky threads by Crabman instead of poring over Martin's old article (very old info). You'll find Watchdog on this generic scam, and you'll see pics of typical threatogram letter-chains like you will get.
IGNORE THE FAKE PCN!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You will probably get one letter from Elite. Then one from Roxburghe, then two from Graham White and then they will go away.
They will make it look scary but it isn't.the amounts will miraculously get bigger and some red ink will appear. You will get one a month.
Is that ok?
Be strong.:)0 -
Thanks backfoot, I read loads of other threads and haven't heard of anyone else being summoned to court. However I did read one forum, that did suggest that if illegally parked on private land other than supermarkets and carparks ect, then the Landowner can charge a nominal fee for unauthorised parking. I wasn't the driver, and even if presented with CCTV footage I will refuse to name the driver.0

You cannot be 'illegally parked on private land'. It's not a crime. CCTV footage may show the car - big deal, how exactly is that telling them who the driver is? Even if they had a pic of the driver how would they know who that person was - they don't have a database of the entire British public any more than any real authority does!
A landlord could charge a parking fee of course, duly advertised and with a method of collecting it like a P&D machine that issues tickets or a bloke in a kiosk on the way in.
Stop worrying - this bogus PCN is nothing, a mere irritation - and knowing they are wasting their money on postage is pretty funny when each letter arrives and you just file it. Complain about the scumbags to the landowner/retailer, yes, but don't actually start thinking you are going to be the one person the PPC drag to Court. You are not!
As I advised earlier, did you look at the sticky threads at the top of the forum board view? Did you see the Watchdog clip and the copies of the threatograms? The Watchdog clip shows an example of a fake PCN with a pic of a car on it - just watch what the Solicitor does with it!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Let me guess HonestJohn ? because that info is complete rubbish!Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Oh my god, by a careless driver parking in a disused garage you caused the landowner very large amounts of damages, a very-large amount indeed, of zero
Just ignore, the most the landowner can sue you for is nothing as the landowner suffered no damages!0 -
Every bit of reassurance anyone would ever need:
