Broken freezer, our rights?

Hey,

We moved into a brand new appartment 3 weeks ago and have had problems with the freezer.

We've been onto the management company we rent via and they don't seem to be doing anything.

As we had to hand the keys to the old place in a week ago we've had to bin some food and the rest is in the freezer of an empty flat down the hall.

It wouldn't be as big a deal for us, but the company seem to be messing us around. They never call back when they say they will, and now they say that the quote they had was too much and they want to send someone else round to look at it, say its broke then give them a quote for replacing. That was the last we were told and that was over a week ago.

Where do we stand with this?

    Put everything in writing. If it's on the inventory it's the landlord's responsibility to ensure you have a working fridge. Ask them to please attend to either having the thing repaired or provide a replacement as soon as possible.
