HDN - Praise

I had paid for an express delivery from Tesco.com's clothing store and I was shocked to see that the courier was none other than the Home Delivery Network!

My parcel had been loaded onto the van quite early on Saturday and I slept through their knocking on my door at half 9 !

I checked the status and it said it had been left in the outbuilding. As I live at the back of a house in my own flat, I assumed that it had been left in the porch of the communal door and went to leave. They had left a delivery note for me.

To my surprise, the HDN courier had left it in the BBQ we had by the front door. I was really happy that a courier had the sense to leave it there rather than take it with them.

So praise to the one and only courier at HDN who used their common sense and left the parcel in my BBQ :).

Please note that this post doesn't contain any sarcasm. I am very happy that firstly the courier actually came to our flat door and and secondly left it for me in a closed BBQ to pick up.

Actually, I have to commend them too. They were to pick up a faulty television from our home on behalf of Asda, and they phoned two days prior to arrange a time - not "all day" or even "morning", they could refine the pick-up time down to a 3hr slot (7-10am).

    Aye right, I thought ...

They turned up at 7:20am!!! I had to rapidly finish dressing to answer the door :rotfl:

I waited in all day on Saturday waiting for delivery having rearranged a previously missed delivery. Finally got fed up of waiting at about 6:00 and went online to check where it was. Bloody thing hadn't even been loaded on the van and was presumably still at the depot (although the page had been updated to indicate a delivery was expected).

    Bloody HDN.

  • I used them a couple of weeks ago to send something to arrive on a certain date so it gave them plenty of time to deliver it - I took the 5 day option. It turned up at destination after 3 days so must applaud them for that too.
