  • The lion poo is supposed to work fairly well.

Other than that there are commercial products such as Pet Stopper by Pet Organics which is safe to spray onto lawns and plants etc

I haven't used that particular product but I have used others in the range with success.

The easiest and most aesthetically pleasing method is to put a good layer of bark on your flower beds (£5 for a 90 litre bag at Wickes) , they won't want to poo on it and it has the added benefit of keeping the weeds down!

Speaking from bitter experience here - depending on if your neighbours all have block paved their gardens, the bark solution may well just resemble a giant litter tray to them! Our old rented house had bark on the beds and I was forever hoiking kitty turds out of it... they don't half stand out like a shining beacon of poo in the middle of a pile of bark chippings.

Burying a little orange people (or other citrus fruit, whuich they apparently dislike the smell of) just under the soil is supposed to be a deterrant.

Sprinkling pepper aroundareas they use may also work

  • we got these little pebble things for our garden - they are glow in the dark and apparently put cats off as they upset their eyes i think or something?!
it does seem to work though. i got them from wilko's i think. they look a bit like those decorative pebbles you put around candles but white. they really stand out in the dark! there is someone across our road who has alot of cats (talking 10/15plus) and they don't come near our garden anymore!

Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.

Think of the Umpa Lumpas, they don't deserve to be buried:D
  • If you have foxes in the garden, some of the poo may be their;s, they love to poo in dog's gardens

One method I have used successfully is to get some bamboo sticks and cut them into 6 inch lenghs and then place in the ground in a grid pattern. they need to be quite close together so that the cats cannot crouch to poo. I used this on a flower bed that I had just sown with seeds and it worked. I realise that this would be difficult to do with a grassed area that children play on
