Camera Insurance Query

I accidently dropped my camera at the wkend and it rolled down the rock into a big salty puddle. I have Jessops Camera Insurance however I have found this clause
'Your equipment must not have been lost, stolen, misused, neglected, poorly installed, subjected to malicious damage or damage caused by fire explosion, floods, lightning, storms, frost,or other bad weather conditions, rust, corrosion or water'
I think this means I'm not covered right? Although I am covered for accidents, and it was an accident.

If you're not covered for the effects of an accident because of that list of exclusions, then surely you have to ask what AM I covered for?

Try to claim and let us know how you get on!

  • Well, I phoned them up and the man on the phone seems to think it should be ok. The camera is in the post. I'll let you know if there's any difficulties.

    Thanks for the help!

I had a similar accident with my DSLR and a pond. Jessops were very good and there was no hassle.

It did take 2 weeks for them to send me through my replacement...
  • I knocked my camera's leica lens against a wine glass when on a night out with friends around 4 years ago. Jessops asked no questions and promptly sent it off for repair. It did take a month to come back to me but considering that I would have had to otherwise pay £250 at least to replace the lens on a compact camera, I wasn't complaining and would recommend them.
