Do I need to take a phone package to get BT Infinity?

Does anyone know whether I can change my home phone line to another provider (ie away from BT) but can still subscribe to BT Infinity?
We live in a non cabled area but want to reduce phone costs and upgrage our broadband to the fibre optic option (whether with BT or Virgin).
Any comments gratefully received

You cant have BT Broadband and have your line rental with another supplier. Your calls yes, but not your line rental.0

If you have BT Infinity, I *think* you have to have BT line rental.
Infinity is just BT's name for the part-fibre service. Other providers also supply, and don't (as far as I know) require the line rental to be with them also just to supply the broadband.0
