thx for the reply alienrik but I didn't actually 'fix' anything. will go get the log for you nowthx for the suggestion rmg1. I have done that and told hijackthis to fix the selected problems but it doesn't make any difference - they are still coming up in the next hijackthis scan
any idea what I need to do to get one of the techies to help?
You told us in another post that you DID try to fix items and they were still there when you rescanned
Which is true?:idea:0 -
aleinrik - I told it to fix it didn't do anything - nothing was done
I must admit I don't understand the tone....0 -
Id guess comodo is at fault and created more networks than there actually are
Id recommend uninstalling comodo, switch on windows firewall and see how it is then
Theres a chance youve knackered the operating system by FIXING items though
You were right - it was Comodo. Thx for the suggestion. :T
I wonder why it worked fine for months and then suddenly the problem - not even gradually.
Oh well, off to find a replacement antivirus and firewall0 -
Unless you require complete control of incoming and outgoing connections (Which I doubt) then windows firewall is fine
Dont use Zonealarm, Sygate or Sunbelt firewalls
Use AVAST or AVIRA av (both free on filehippo.com):idea:0 -
