Water pipe insurance

Hi all. Does anyone else here have insurance for their water pipes that are exterior to the house (but is on your land)? I got sent a letter from my water company last week offering me a special offer on the first year insurance. This will cover me if a water pipe which goes under my garden bursts - and will cover for plumbing costs. Details here: http://www.homeserve.com/insurance/water-supply-pipe-cover

I'm always wary of companies that offer insurance, and some never pay out. I wondered if anyone on these forums have had experience with these guys - good or bad.

Thankyou.

    Its worth checking on your insurance policy as NFU covers things like that as standard

    "3) Public services
    WE will pay for DAMAGE, which YOU are legally
    responsible for, to any cable, pipe, drain,
    inspection cover
    or underground sewage tank
    serving YOUR BUILDINGS."

    also

    "5) Trace and access
    WE will pay the cost of locating the source of:
    • water escaping from any fixed tank, pipe or
    apparatus;
    oil escaping from any heating system;
    and subsequently making good the DAMAGE
    caused by the search."

    IIRC Select & Protect's products have a similar benefit included, paying for investigations into leaks in pipes between the house and the street;-
    £5,000 cover for trace and access of burst pipes, our highest volume claim yet one that is often not covered by insurers
