Vertical Blinds Revamp

Does anyone know the exact material vertical blinds are made from?

I have pale mint blinds in my conservatory and decided they don't really match the rest of the furnishings. I bought some dylon Pre dye and was horrified to see they had to be washed at 95C, but thought nothing to lose (cos they need changing). When the pre dye wash had finished the blinds where still pale mint and the same length, width and texture (lucky), but i carried on with the actual dye to dye them to the colour i wanted. Needless to say they are still pale mint. I am now considering bleaching the blinds, and just wondered if anyone has tried this before? I know bleaching sounds harsh but it looks like these blinds are made from tough stuff.

  • Vertical blinds are made from various different materials, yours are obviously of a type that can't absorb the dye.

It is possible to just order new vertical parts.

Indeed, I replaced all of mine, made to size with new fittings.

From a very good ebay seller, they arrived the next day and were very reasonable.
