• Thanks for info you've saved my life. I saw this advert in loot.com magazine. I did telephone 0906 5790552 number. I was put on hold for over 3mins. I did pay £49.99 fee via paypal, this saved my life. Becuase I never got a confirmation receipt, which means my cash never went through (I have emailed paypal just to confirm) Also did you ever look at www.directmarketinguk.net number is 0906 5790558 (yeah very similar, they must be twins!!) I checked the website they are very similar to www.abssuk.co.uk. But I'm too sure if they are genuine!!!?? I have emailed recruit@loot.com to complain. I've asked they why didn't bother to check these companies out first before they decided to place a big advert. I work part time at home on my website www.v.w.d.com/146265lC this genuine because I do receive monthly cheques... Regards

a real limited registered British company

Wow, you've convinced me now, it's not as if setting up a registered company takes 5 minutes to fill out the forms and £20. Being a registered company doesn't make you any more legit.

Well thanks for all the info guys n gals, I picked up a copy of 'Job Oppurtunities' from my local job centre & asked one of the clerks what they honestly thought of the 'work from home' ads in the free paper they supplied, all he said was 'be careful' which immediately set alarm bells ringing.. so me being suspicious I text the number & 4 days later a badly hand written envelope lands on my doormat with the application form & all the schpeil inside about how to make all this money blah blah blah. I just know a scam when I see one & I immediately Googled the company (A.B.S.S UK Limited) & low & behold.. all I can see is scam this & scam that from the search results.

Also.. if anyone HAS been paid by A.B.S.S UK can they please post a scan of the cheque on this forum?

And another after-thought: Why the hell does the job centre allow these magazines in the first place? esp when they know the ads in there are dubious to say the least.. are they getting a cut or some sought of payment to allow these publications to be displayed?.. Discuss!

Happy Xmas All!

Loot make it quite clear that it is up to you to check that the ads are genuine and legitimate before parting with any money. You can't really hold them responsible for the naivety of readers who think they can earn a quick buck & believe everything the ads say.

• DO NOT JOIN ABSSUK LTD SCAMMERS

I have made same mistake and joined Abssuk Ltd (http://www.abssuk.co.uk/) recently and lost my £49.99 thinking that it’s just envelope filling job. I did not check on the company before. I am running really low on my income and hardly manage with daily food on the table. I have family to support. This is not right, I do not want anybody else to go through what I went. £50 pound is lot money for me. I have emailed the Abssuk on the same day I got the information pack and upon request by Abssuk I sent back the pack with refund form they sent me through email.

I sent emails to check on the progress of my refund of £49.99 but no reply. Finally I got replay saying I have passed the 7 days refund limit. I have receipt of when I sent the pack back, everything happened within the 2 - 3 days time.

I ordered pack on 05/06/08 and I have had refund form on 06/06/08 and I sent everything back on 07/06/08.

I still cannot believe that company like this is still in operation even in developed country like UK. They must not be in operation and still scamming money off from innocent people.

I do not know what the law in this country is doing to protect people against this unlawful business.

Name & Registered Office:
ABSS UK LTD
11 MURRAY STREET
CAMDEN
LONDON
NW1 9RE
Company No. 05616409

Hi Everyone,

I joined abssuk home mailing program and paid a fee of £49.99 (apparently refundable once I send my first batch of 100 envelopes). Initially I did have my suspicions but thought it wouldn't hurt to try and I could always make £49.99.

On their site they make it out so that people would get the impression that all they have to do is stuff envelopes with other company ads. Unfortunately this is not the case, it seems all along they are just advertising themselves. They send you leaflets so you can advertise them (with your own money) and generate more members for them who like me fall victim to their conniving ways and end up paying £49.99 to their benefit.

Why am I writing this? Because I am !!!!ed and aside from that I just want people to know that NEVER EVER EVER EVER join a home mailing program especially abssuk.

There is so much I have learnt about this company which I dont have time to list here just yet, I will publish it on a different post (I might even be tempted to scan their cheap manual).

As these last 2 posts have highlighted, what really annoys me about these work-from-home scams is that they most know it is often those who can ill-afford to lose this money who will be had by it.

Agree that Daniel1 is almost certainly associated with this.
• I sent off for the info after seeing the advert in the free job opportunities magazine.

After reading all the advice it would appear that this is blatently a scam, and although its not really going to dent the pocket of these paper criminals I have ripped up the info and put it back in the envelope and posted it back to them, and ops I forgot to put a stamp on it. Therefore they will have to stump up the cost to open the envelope that is full of their crap.
