First thing to distinguish between: Your rights under warranty and under SOGA are two completely different things.
The warranty is entirely voluntary on the part of Samsung, the maker.
Your rights under SOGA are with whoever sold it to you, not Samsung.
However, as someone said on the other thread, it's likely that the Samsung warranty is greater than 1 year, so you can probably take that route.0
