Hi for me DH and DD (18mths) i make a meal plan and try to stick to it - i work 16.5 hours and DH full time so its very hard to find time to cook but i aim to make one big home cooked meal per week and make double to freeze - last week chilli this week lasagne etc then when im having days when i dont have much time i can always pull dinner out of the freezer. I freeze things in individual portions for us as i might eat without DH and DD has a smaller portion etc but it works. I also shop on a Thurs and buy the paper morning too as that seems to be where places advertise there offers and meal plan around what is on offer too! good luck!Living the simple life0

It can be really tough working and trying to produce good food for oyur family. Here are someof the things my parents did to ensure cheap homemade food on the table every night.
Use the leftovers form your Sunday roast to make another meal, it is worth buying a bigger roast to do this. Wether its cold roast pro with mash on Monday or a curry or chilli made with any left over meat its quick and easy.
They used the delay timer on the oven so a dish could be put in the oven and timed to come on to cook so it was ready when we all got home.
Use the kids, we had to do simple prep jobs for our evening meal when we got home form school, lay the table , peel spuds etc.
They often made stews and casserols in the pressure cooker the evening before then thye just needed warming up the next day. Just seal the meat in hot oil in th ebase of the pressure cooker and sewat off some onions.and put in other veg and potatoes with water and oxo cube or stock if there was some. The 15-20 mins at pressure and it was all fully cooked.
Packed lunches for eveyone were made in the evening and put in the fridge for the next day.
Good luck, you will have to be organised byut it is possible."doing the best you enjoy, not the best you can tolerate, is truly the best you can do sustainably."0
