Goa, flight plus accomodation

I'm looking to go to Goa for a quick pre-Xmas holiday for 2 weeks. A couple of probs tho. I would be looking at going on my own, or with a mate. But would want a single room (each). Would I be better getting a flight (saw one around £250) and getting accomodation whilst there?
Projects 2020-
Joint driveway with neighbour (groundwork to be done by myself)
Reduce CC debts, overtime (new job during pandemic), moneysaving and now a 3 year old to pay for and newborn LOL

Remember you need a VISA, so you'd have to queue up now to be sure of getting it.

If you're 2 blokes, i'd just get the flight and look around when you get there.
You should be ok getting a room anywhere as long as you come back before about Dec 18th, it gets completely full after that.
  • If you want a busy resort head for Baga or Calangute

cost of a pint 40 p or you can haggle lol
  • i'd thoroughly recommend getting a flight only. i'm off with my girlfriend on sunday. £309 return from manchester. we are going to get a cab from the airport to palolem or patnem (<£15) which is down the coast, quiet in terms of the lack of discos but plenty of restaurants. we are budgeting for less than £15 per night between us for accomodation, but you could spend as little as £2.50 for a very basic hut on stilts on the edge of the beach.

i'm not a traveller in the lonely planet sense of the word and it's not scary at all to turn up without accomodation ... just dump your bags in bar and go find a nice place to stay.

Visa is £30 (plus about £12 for special delivery for the application) and the turnaround time is two weeks so you might be cutting it fine. apparently as you get close to xmas the accomodation does get pre-booked.
