compact camera choise?

any pointers for a compact camera for the oh
something with
*10/12 mega pixels
* x12 zoom
budget €200 -£165
or better still any to avoid!!

It's not as simple as that.

For instance megapixel count is not an indication of quality, likewise be wary of x12 zoom at the cheaper end of the market.

If you Google digital camera buyers guide, you will see plenty of guides to choose from including Cameras.co.uk which is as good a starting point as any.

The best advice is usually in which? and you can take a free trial subscription on-line. Our local library holds copies of which? magazine and <googles> digital cameras are in the current one.

I bought a Pansonic TZ8 a couple of weeks ago £149 in Sainsburys not sure if they are still that price but it might be worth a look in your local Sainsburys.
