Pleased to get this off my chest. I had an excellent experience with a specialist electrician on trustatrader about six years ago but have recently had a terrible experience with a painter and decorator whose standard of customer service was way below anything you would expect. The company had one of the highest reviews on the site and I have lost trust and confidence in it. I am very suspicious because the way he behaved to me was indicative of an appalling attitude to customers which would be enough to torpedo most companies.0

Trust a trader!!!! Wow what a joke!!!! We have just had a trades person carry out some work in our property and these people were on trust a trader.. we had a problem with the work that they did.. they charged us £400 for a power flush on our heating system which we then found out they hadn't done to a satisfactory standard as there was still masses of sludge in our system, we contacted trust a trader with the report stating they hadn't carried out properly the power flush and filled in the forms for a complaint for them to follow it up.. we received a phone call the following morning saying they had spoken to the trader in question and according to them they carried out the work correctly... even tho we had a report to the contrary, and there was nothing further they could do... really!! So a company has defrauded us of £400 for work they have completed and been paid for and there is nothing you can do!!! So please tell me what is the point of trust a trader??? Have an issue not their problem.. was told we cant do anything if the trader says they have done the work correctly. DONT TRUST A TRADER!! You should be called!!! Joke!!!

I am a qualified and registered electrician (registered with a Competent Person Scheme) and I am registered with TrustAtrader too. I understand your frustration and anger. I feel like this on a daily basis, I assume that you read the reviews for this trader. I hope that you left a bad review. TrustAtrader is an advertising platform, they check that the registered traders have the qualifications and that they are insured as required, but they cannot know if a person is honest, there are several companies like TrustAtrader, and they will do almost anything to keep their members, this is a business made for profit. The problem is more with the system in this country, instead of having one body that controlled by the government (like many other countries), there are, 17 registration bodies (Competent Person Schemes), this created a situation where these companies compete to get new members and this competition caused significant reduction in the professional level of the members. I know that this does not solve your problem but I hope that my support makes you feel a bit netter. If you are still very angry, you can take him/them to the small claims court, you do not need a solicitor.1

Ones that I trust have told me that often it is the scale that is holding the pipes together and the pressure can cause leaks; if the customer insists on one they are made to sign disclaimers regarding leaks.
Slightly off topic and doesn't help I know.Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0
