MFI, Tesco Clubcard Vouchers and the next sale

Gutted. Was about to order a table and a couple of stools from MFI on tuesday thinking I could just go home and use my tesco clubcard vouchers to print off vouchers to take back to store. Anyhow find out they have to be posted and they have just turned up today and the sale is now finished!! To make matters worse the table and stools have actually increased in price. The vouchers are valid until the end of April 2007 so I may as well wait a bit. Does anyone know if MFI will repeat their 'Up to half price sale + 20% off'? They currently have deals on a the moment which just give you extra stuff and finish at the end of December, which may mean the usual sale returns for the new year??? Also have noticed the vouchers say they cannot be used with any other offer - does this include the MFI sale? And one final question (sorry!!) I don't suppose the vouchers can be exchanged back into normal clubcard vouchers if I decide I no longer want to buy stuff from MFI?

MFI always have a sale going on... if I were you I would wait and see what happens in next 6 six months. Yes you can turn deals back into points so don't worry you won't lose them. I have used deals for sale items in the past so should be able to use them on reduced prices0 -
From Tesco's website:shibumi wrote:MFI always have a sale going on... if I were you I would wait and see what happens in next 6 six months. If you have been saving your Clubcard Vouchers for mfi, you must have ordered your Tokens and made your purchase by 30th April 2007.

Select "Home" then "MFI"0 -
MFI always have Sale's on. I'm sure the things you want will be in the 'Sale' again soon (especially the Jan Sale). You can use your Deals vouchers on things which are in the 'Sale' - I have bought a bed and wardrobes before from MFI, both of which were in the 'Sale'

The sale finished yesterday and prices are back up for 'price establishment' for a month. Next sale starts Boxing Day according to the bloke in store yesterday. I only noticed that they had finally extended the 20% off to include electricals as it normally didn't (was justfor the last week). I ordered and just paid deposit in cash so I got the goods at offer price, can then convert my Tesco vouchers to pay the balance anytime in the next 3 weeks.0

Currently the minimum spend at MFI with Tesco vouchers is £250 but it's going up to £500, check Tesco's website for the date.0

I thought you couldn't use your clubcard vouchers on sale goods. Am I wrong?0

Obviously it's too late for you this time, but what you could have done is paid a deposit in MFI for the items you wished to purchase at the sale prices, using your credit card (or by cash etc). Then when your Clubcard deal vouchers arrived, go back in to pay the balance (they will even refund the deposit you've already paid if you want to pay the full amount with Clubcard deal vouchers).humfer wrote:Gutted. That's a shame you missed out this time, but I'm sure the sale prices will be repeated very very soon!

I doubt whether the sale prices you mentioned will be repeated, not for along time anyway.
I buy lots of items from MFI, usually kitchens ( i'm a fitter ) and usually, the most you will get off is VAT. Their sale prices are still expensive, it just brings the usual prices down to realistic prices. However, the 20% off everything was particular good.
They also overinflate prices so they can then show them at a realistic price when they have a sale ( ie half price plus VAT free etc ). I bought a sofa bed ( Cassiopeia Charcoal 2 Seater Sofabed) on Wednesday with Tesco vouchers. It cost me £375. Look at the price now, £1,074.98. They have to do this to meet trading standard regulations when they have a sale on. What they will then do after 6 weeks or so is put it in the sale at half price plus VAT free, bringing it down to a realistic price of around £430.
They are nothing but scam merchants and once the Tesco scheme goes, I think they will loose a lot of business.0 -
If you choose not to got to MFI, you might be able to use your vouchers elsewhere without changing them. For instance, I ordered some Butlins vouchers which I then decided not to use (as I visited Butlins in the meantime!) and the clubcard helpline told me to just take them to MFI where they would be accepted despite having the wrong code on. MFI didn't bat an eyelid - just make sure you check with Clubcard first.0

Why don't you try going in to MFI and saying that you were interested in the goods at the sale price if they can still offer it to you. I think there is at least a chance they will. Don't mention you'll be paying with vouchers until the price is agreed though!0
