youtube has broken. Sound ok but picture is blank.

Got a problem with you tube. It plays audio but no picture, the screen is just black. It was working fine yesterday

I have tried un-installing flash player and re-installing and re-booting the machine but hasn't made a difference. The problem is the same on all internet browsers IE, chrome and firefox so would suggest that the problem is with Flash player. However I have tried other video sites like BBC iPlayer and that works fine.

You tube is working fine on my other machine which is connected to the same router and internet connection.

The machine in question has Windows XP with AVG and Zone Alarm security software installed. My internet browsers are all set to have full access in zone alarm settings.

The only thing I can think of that might have caused this is that I ran spybot and a CCleaner scan last night. They both found and fixed a few problems. I can't help thinking that other people would have had the same problem if this were the cause and I can't find any reference to it online anywhere. I'm totally baffled by this please does anyone have any ideas what could be the cause?

I had a similar problem with youtube recently, but it was only with a couple of certain videos on the site... not sure why it was happening.

What solved it temporarily for me was right-clicking the youtube video area on a video's page, navigating through the options until you find the "Enable Hardware Acceleration" option and de-selecting it.

I think flash player maybe has a problem which needs fixed. I'd recommend having hardware acceleration on normally. But until adobe fix it, this works.
