I found this in my latest edition of computeractive mag, on page 44 it tells you 'Run programs with an Apple Mac' style launcher. Its called Rocketdock, its free, I downloaded and installed it (did not need a restart either) and it is the best thing since sliced bread!
It makes it so much easier to launch my documents and my pictures rather than the few steps process normally. Its cusomisable I have added my own icons - by dragging them to it and deleted a couple I don't need as much.
There is a website called RocketDock.com and you can download it from here

So I thought I'd share it with mse'ers and see what you think.

I create a folder on my desktop, then right click on an empty part of the task bar and choose toolbars - New Toolbar. Then pick the folder you have just created (I called mine S).
This folder then appears as a tool bar in the task bar.
You can then open the folder on the desk top and drag n drop shortcuts into it. The short cuts can be for folders, programs, files and even internet favourites.
You can then rename, sort and delete them easily.
I have six of these on my task bar for various things, "Office" programs, graphics, folders, Sound Files, Internet favourites, etc.
(you can make these toobars short so only the name and two arrows are visible, Hence me calling them just S for Shortcuts, O for Office, I for Internet etc.)0 -
This kinda reminds me of my Creative Mediasource (CM) dock - screenshot when it's not 'hiding'.
Couple of questions if I may.....
Can it be configured to appear on a display's left/right edge? I cannot change CM's 'top' position, but I could place this at top left of my widescreen display.
What's its memory usage like? (This is visible in Windows Task Manager / Ctrl+Alt+Del). I don't want it to slow down my PC. CM uses around 9,500K. Btw, Quick Launch works well for me without using any memory at all. G0 -
Mem usage is 9,658, and you can configure it to go to the left right and bottom of screen.
I just had a fiddle did a rightclick on it and chose screen positions, its sitting to my left now in a vertical position.
hope that helps Goofycat
ps I have Creative Mediasource too.I always wanted to be a procrastinator, never got round to it...0
