Competition for Logitech ?

Came across this yesterday and was rather surprised at the price when I read the claims. http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl_uk/hs.xsl/index_19036.htm
"Memorises functions from other remote controls " and "MACRO function for programmable button sequences". The downside could be "Suitable for virtually all common brand devices " so some of my range lesser known devices may not be included.
I just wondered if anyone had shelled out £5-99 and taken it for a test run yet ?

It's Logitech's web-based programming that really shines. You're not going to get anything similar at that price. I've tried other cheap multi-function remotes and they usually run out of memory long before you get all the codes you need into them.
Looking at the pic of the Lidl remote, it's clear that it doesn't even have the red/green/yellow/blue buttons that are indispensable in the UK for TVs and PVRs.0 -

It does, but they are not on the usual in line standard layout.
They are on the 3rd and 4th line of buttons from the bottom.0 -

I'm sure you're right, though it's not visible on the web page. Some Logitechs (e.g. Harmony One) lack these buttons, too. For TV/PVR use not having these buttons readily available is a major disadvantage.0 -

Strange, they are clearly visible on my web page ??
I agree that not having them would be a pain.;)0 -
