Monster Cakes

We are havig a Red Nose Day bake off at work on Tuesday and I want to win!! (not that I am competitive or anything...)

Now while I am a good baker, I am not so good at making them particularly pretty. I was going to make a dragon cake which I have made before but I am not sure if that is "monstery" enough.

Any ideas?

I think a dragon is the essence of monster. A really good idea. X

Well you could use a photo of me. Definitely a competition winner ;)

Alternatively, a quick browse of links here might be helpful: google monster cakes

I had to come away from there quickly. Wa-a-ay too tempting :)

Aww... Squeaks I am sure that's not true!

I did google - but couldn't see anything that was particularly straightforward.

    Hi Ladyhawk,

I have used this website before for inspiration when making birthday cakes:

    www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com

The cakes are made and the pictures submitted by people of different baking abilities and if you click on the links they often give step by step instructions on how they achieved the end result. If you scroll down there are several different categories which contain pics and instructions.

    Good luck with your cake.

I'm not at all sure that I should have thanked pink for her post ;)

Ladyhawk, I really am sorry but right now viewing scrumptious cake recipes is, for me, not a good idea. I'm currently on a tight budget, and while I'll allow myself the odd treat... I need to concentrate on being especially healthy because I'm buying as cheap as possible.

    <sigh> :)

Trouble is... I know they're there... I can hear them calling to me...

    "Sque-e-e-eaky... come and e-e-e-eat meee......"
