Oil & Filter change

They changed mine.
It does say in huge text "Oil and Filter Change" on the right so the filter damn well should be done.0 -
I compromise by doing an intermediate oil-only change using a hand vacuum pump.
Doesn't take long to do, and the pump sucks out about 5ltrs, which the handbook says is the capacity of my car, not including the filter.
I think I paid £25 for the last oil, including a 'free' screwdriver set.
The vacuum pump was £40 and I only use it once a year.
Probably no cheaper overall than a fast-fit place, but I quite enjoy a little modest tinkering with the car.0 -
I used to use the Kwikfit in Romford when I lived in a flat, it was a MK2 Mondeo petrol and they charged under £30, as it needed a the proper zetec oil.
It certainly does. If you put a higher viscose oil in it like 10w40 it will clatter on start up like a diesel engine (I'm speaking from experience).0
