we have been looking for a new suite and know that it appears to be a minefield.
while out yesterday hubby popped into SCS at Lakeside and saw a 2 seater lazy boy electric recliner reduced from 2199 (lol) to 699. plus delivery.
It said one only, hubby said that it was a shame as may have needed two to which they replied that they MAY be able to source another from a different store...
There are so many forums about suite shops and most about SCS appear negative. I know at the end of the day we would have the S75 credit card backing in the event of anything going wrong but would rather do without the hastle.
If not SCS can anyone suggest a good company for a suite, I think there may be a few bank holiday sales coming up soon...

When I moved to my present place in 2002 I bought a sofa and a reclining chair from SCS.
There was a mix up with the order and I ended up with an ex-display three seater sofa (with the reclining ends) instead of a new two seater non-reclining sofa. No difference in the cost, despite the three seater being considerably more expensive.
It was a faff at the time (I spent six weeks with no sofa), but the furniture is great, has lasted really well and is still very comfortable.0 -
i bought a fabric sofa (3seater and a 2 seater) last year with no issues when buying and the sofas have been fine0

In respect of this company, SCS, I can only say that, in response to a request by my wife for a donation for a charity event in 2009, the company responded with an extremely generous cheque (3 figures). I would find it difficult to reconcile this type of action with anything but a responsible institution.0

We bought a 3 seater, a 2 seater and a love seat from them this year. Ordered at the beginning of the new year and were told should get it within 6-8 weeks. At 6 weeks got a phone call about the sofas saying there was a fault in the fabric and it would be two more weeks. Sofas were delivered about 2 weeks later.
I love them, they look beautiful and are really comfortable. We had two friends who also ordered from them just before us and theirs came promptly and had no problems.
I think you read so many bad things because people prefer to complain than to compliment. If you think of the 1000s of customers they obviously have every year compared to the number of complaints there are obviously more happy customers than unhappy ones.
(Beginning to sound like I work for them so best stop there)0
