Cameron is a moron - only a moron can slash our defence budget, get rid of harriers and aircraft carriers and then take us into a civil war that we have no right to get involved in.

Libya produces about 2% of the world's oil:

Output has apparently fallen to 500,000 bbd in the past 2 weeks.

Gadaffi or rebels, Gadaffi or rebels. Hmm, it's a tough choice.

Some points to note (taken from P. Eye) :-
    - Gadaffi has £1bn of family assets already seized in the UK (this isn't the sum total of his assets)
    - A Libyan on minimum wage will earn less than £800 per year
    - One third of the population in Libya remain below the poverty line.

Translation :- it's always the ordinary person who gets shafted, regardless of who assumes power.

What is our goal in so far as helping these people? At least when I donate to Red Nose day I know I'm buying mosquito nets etc.

    1. Securing oil supplies
    2. See #1.

Overthrowing a particularly nasty despot and supporter of international terrorism would be merely a happy side-effect.

Were oil supplies ever unsecured? AFAIK, we have been buying their oil for years, and if the rebels win we'd just buy it from different people. Neither of the parties to the civil war are going to turn down a chance for profit at the end of the day.

The only trouble is that while the war is going on, output has dropped by about 70% taking over a million barrels of oil a day from world production.

The world wants the war to end and propping up discredited dictators is too 1986 to be considered. Obviously propping up creditable dictators like those lovely gentlemen from the House of Saud is a very sensible idea. Unless they seriously look like they're going to lose power of course.

Another illegal war which Britain as become sucked into as the USA's poodle.

Once the Libyan asylum 'seekers' start pouring into Europe in their millions, don't be surprised when the NHS turns away your premature baby, relative with cancer and elderly parents to die in agony at home.

All the ££ Billions from crushing taxation will be lavished on the Mohammedans and their many, many children due to greedy lawyers exploiting yer 'umin rites rules imposed by Blair and the leftards.

Indeed...i would advise the Argentineans to set sail for the Falklands asap, just to complete our humiliation.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
