Broken sofa - out of guarantee

I bought 2 sofas from a well known high street store - now 18 months later one is broken - the base seems like it has cracked -

It is past the guarantee stage but what rights do I have? How should I go about contacting them?

Comments

  • The first port of call I would suggest is to contact the actual store you bought it from, explain that you expect it to last longer than 18 months (quite rightly!) and see what they say, you might be surprised. If you don't get the answer you want, tell them you will go to the Head Office, then do just that. Most companies want to help as long as you are polite to start with.
