fixed payment on cc

hi all, this is my first post on here so hoping im in right place..

our situation is...
we have a cc with mbna which we have had for 4 years our credit limit is £3500 of which £3,200 was used as a balance transfer.two years into the card debt my husband lost his job so after a couple of months struggling we got in touch with mbna and agreed a fixed payment for with interested frozen,my husband is now back in work but due to him being out for so long we are still catching up with other payments so have been on the fixed payment for 18 months paying £32 per month our debt has gone for the £2900 we had on it at the time to £1897 at this present moment we have missed no payments and all have been paid by the due date,,,was just wondering if anyone knows if mbna would offer a low settlement payment if asked to clear account in full

looking forward to your reply thanks

  • maybe, but as youve not missed any of the agreed payments maybe not
of course the fact that you suggest you have cash avaliable to clear the debt may mean an end to the deal you have with them.

I'd be tempted to carry on as things are until they want you to start paying interest again. As soon as they know there is an income it would be odd for them to want to write off the debt.

It sounds like they have been more than helpful already.
