Attach netbook to printer ?

Hello. Is it possible for me to connect my Acer Aspire netbook to my printer in another room and attached to my main pc ? Thanks.:o

Yes it is possible.
You need File & Printer Sharing enabled on the host PC, and to install the printer on your netbook you can simply type the hostname (or IP address) of the host machine followed by the printer name in to the run command and the rest will be done for you.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -

Hi i did try something like that and it worked when i tried with my husbands laptop but when i did the exact same thing with this netbook i got so far then said windows cudnt find it and it was aborted or something. So i dont know:(0 -

does the Netbook have Windows 7 ??
is the PC Xp ??
in XP the "Workgroup" is called MSHOME , in Win 7 they called it HOMEGROUP , you need to change it to MSHOME for them both to see each other
go to,
Start - My computer right click - properties - computer name, domain and workgroup settings -
change settings - computer name tab - change - workgroupEx forum ambassador
