Oasis Card difficult situation- advice/support needed

Hi everyone,
I took out an Oasis store card before Christmas. This was my first ever store card and I don't know what I was thinking! I am in full time employment so paying it off wasn't going to be a problem.
However, the item- only a £26 top- I took the card out to pay for, had to be ordered from another store in London. It was going to be posted to me, but (partly due to the snow, I think) it never arrived, and I went away on the 23rd Dec, and didn't come back for three weeks. The item never appeared.
I am now getting increasingly worrying letters and phone calls from the card company. When I ring them they tell me that I have to ring the store, when I ring the Head Office of the store, they tell me it's a problem with the card. I am behind on payments which has never happened before.
I am not prepared to pay £26 for an item I never received and certainly not the arrears! Please could someone advise me? Who should I contact and what should I say?
Thanks in anticipation!

I would treat this problem as two separate issues.
Firstly you did not receive your order so I would email them and inform them that you expect a full refund. I am assuming that you did not have an item you could track.
Secondly I would email / write to the company address at the top of your store card statement asking them to suspend any late payment charges as you are awaiting the original charge to be refunded due to it never being received.
I would dig out copies of all your written correspondence so far if you have them and keep a record of when you phoned and who you spoke to if possible if you can remember.
Sadly I fear you have assumed it will all just go away on it's own and have ignored it a bit. Common sense says you should not have to pay anything, I know, but you're dealing with computers which will automatically add charges if no one tells it otherwise.
Good luck0
