Brand new phoneline needed

My brother has just moved into a new flat and is now looking to get a phoneline installed, but doesn't know who is the best provider. For the short-term he is requiring just the phoneline, but might later want to add a broadband service to it.

Can anyone recommend a package/company to get this from?
Has anyone else done this recently and how good quality was the service and support provided.

If its a new build its likley you're brother will need a full connection. Due to this, he's limited to who he can choose to install it. BT will provide a line for a one off fee of £124.99, or his address may be served by cable (this is unlikley though, if its a new build).

I agree with clark1982 for a new line it's £124.99 (even if flat prewired) with a 12 month term, if the flat has been connected to BT before the reconnection is free with only a 3 month term. He'll also need to choose a BT Together option http://www.bt.com/Choices/index.jsp I'd suggest Option 1 to start off with but it can be changed at anytime to one of the others.
