Please help how to mutually retract

I hope that someone can help me.
I listed a car roofbox which is about 5 years old but had never been used. It attracted a lot of bids, and I was pleased when it sold for £51. Unfortunately when the buyer arrived to collect it, he discovered that part of the lock mechanism is missing.
My question is what can I do so that I don't get charged the selling fees by ebay. Can we agree to retract and how do I do this? I obviously can't sell it to anyone else

You need to go to the resolution centre in Ebay. Then, tick the 'I want to cancel a transaction'. You should have the buyers id and the item number to hand.
Input the item number when the box asks and then highlight the buyer. There will be a drop down menu, select the item most appropriate reason for cancelling.
The buyer can refuse, ignore or accept. If they refuse, then you are left with the fees, if they ignore then after 7 days you can close the case and get your FVF back, if they accept the latter is done immiedately.0 -
