Freeview in Warrenpoint

Morning everyone.

As the title says does anyone here get freeview in and around Warrenpoint and if so whats the quality like?

Some people claim they can get it yet others claim that its not available for a year or two.

Anyone definitely getting it?

(The freeview I mean :) )

Have you tried the checker on Freeview.co.uk here?

    Edited to add:
Oh hang on, they don't even know themselves, the twerps. I checked my own postcode (I live out the other side of Newry) and it said:

It looks like you can receive Freeview channels but we don't have enough information at this stage to tell you more.
Your best option is to consult a local aerial installer to find the best option to suit your address."

I do get Freeview, so the advice from the Freeview website is as helpful as a chocolate teapot!

I'm pretty sure you can't get freeview but we get most of the freeview channels through our satellite. It might be called freesat. We have a satellite dish & a box of some sort. We don't subscribe to sky or anything.

Not much help as my OH sorted it all out but maybe you could google it?
    1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100
    MFW 2013 no. 62 £10,000/£10,000
    MFW 2014 no 62 £8000/£7000
  • It will be near impossible to get freeview in warrenpoint at the moment. Unless from North West of England.

Freesat would be your best bet at the momemt.

You will get Soarview soon but its Irish Freeview.

PM for more info it needed.

  • Thanks for the advice everyone -we currently have Sky Multiroom but was looking for something that we could use as a standalone for one of the kids bedrooms - cant watch POPGIRL any longer lol.

    Thanks everyone!

Well 2012 is when analogue will switch off, which means the Freeview signal will be stronger and have more channels, and reception will improve, but if you've got a mountain face in the way, it's unlikely to help!

Yep, power outputs are going to increase for freeview by a lot, so much so that some people may need to have attenuators!

    ETA:

Go here: http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/home and put in your postcode and tick the "im in installation trade". This will bring you up the signal strength levels for Divis and you can see how Mux signal levels for A and C will increase to the 90's after switchover is complete.
    Regards, Robin.

"As your TV region gets closer to the switchover, Freeview signal will improve. Power will be increased, and more digital transmitters will be added to the network as we get closer to switchover"
