Most banks have them, just go onto website of your most convenient.

There aren't any that are paying decent interest or anything like that, if that's what you mean by "best". At 13, I'd suggest the main things to take into consideration are easy access - both in person and on-line. Most banks will offer a basic account and debit card to a 13-year-old, so I'd recommend you start with whichever one has a convenient branch.

  • lloyds is the best by far for young persons account
although it should be noted that a visa debit card may not be issued and may have to be upgraded (cashpoint card)
halifax is visa electron (not debit)
personally i would go for the HSBC MyMoney since you can use it abroad with no cost
Or if you live near a Metro Bank then the Cash Card Account is excellent

I would second HSBC, I had their MyAccount until I turned 18 - got a debit card at 13 & there's online access as well.

I would teach her to be responsible/careful and not draw out any more than what is in the account.
    Some ATMs allow this.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
