Boxer Dog Eyes - Worried

I've just noticed this morning something strange about my dogs eyes.

He is a 9 year old boxer, in good health. I was cleaning his face and as we were in sunlight I could see his eyes really clearly. In the coloured part of his eyes which are a bluey colour he has 3 round patches of black, I've never noticed this before. His left eye has more black patches than his right. I haven't noticed anything different about him recently, he isn't bumping in to things etc.

Any ideas? I will of course take him to the vets, but wondered if anybody else has experienced this?

So worried now, I know he's getting on in years, but he is healthy, still plays a pup and is soooo important to me and my family.

I'd try not to worry, I'm pretty sure my old cat had something similar to what you described and it was just a variation in the iris.
She had just one round circle of black on one eye. I'd take him to the vets still obviously, as this may not be the same thing, but it definetly sounds just like it!

I have a 12 year old boxer, she has constantly had trouble with her eyes (mainly ulcers). Get him to a vet as soon as its conveinient for you to do so, just to be sure that all is ok. I am sure all will be fine but you need to put your mind at rest.
