Theres also a 360 degree thing of Forest Course (both outside and inside), but bear in mind that its pretty tidy in there.... my room was tidy the day I moved in, and the day I moved out.

given how many students bring computers, she may well find that university computer rooms/library facilities are more than adequate, as they are nowhere near as widely used as even 5 years ago. if money is very tight, then expensive accommodation seems mad just to get a computer, and it's worth seeing how she'd be without buying one. it won't be as convenient, that's a given, but it can help separate 'working/studying' from 'home'. which can be a good thing!

I went to Edge Hill but as a post-grad and rented privately, the university have an approved list of houses which can be looked into. Private would be cheaper than university accommodation and would mean that she could buy a netbook/laptop from the money saved.

My daughter is there at the moment, not a sniff of accomodation on site and we are nearly 70 miles away. She is renting privately with 3 other 1st years in Ormskirk town. If you can get there for an accomodation workshop I would advise it.
