BT Anytime £5.20??

Just had a letter from BT saying renewal of my annual Anytime contract comes up in April and if I do nothing it will renew at £5.20 (I currently pay £4.99).
On the website it's £5.00 (and can include international or mobile cheaper rates, which my current one doesn't).
I phoned the number on the letter and they reckon it's a typo as all they have on their system is £5.00, reducing to £4.70 on 28th April.
Should I cancel it and renew again when the deal expires at £5.00 or trust what the phone people say?

Definitely goes down to £4.70 on April 28th 2011.
" By signing up to the Unlimited Anytime Plan you can also avoid some of the price increases, plus we're reducing the price in April which means you're getting an even better deal. Our new price of £4.70 is the cheapest amongst our major competitors: Sky charge £5.00 a month, Talk Talk £6.21 a month and Virgin Media £8.00 a month."

Then click on Why should I stay with BT if you keep on increasing prices?
However people are being offered it for £3 a month if they take a years renewable contract. Worth calling there customers options team and saying your thinking of moving and see what they offer.:D
They have also been known to offer £24 OR £36 credit on your bill instead.0 -
It's not the charge for a period of a little over a month is it?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
