Hi,
I haven't got my card reader with me to make payment online, can I make payment on the phone to an account?
I rang telephone banking, gone through to payment services and can't seem to find an option, I'm hearing transfer between accounts, pay a regular bill and hear future dated payments....
where is make a transfer If there is an option?
Can't even get an advisor at the minute...

You need to speak to a member of staff who will make the transfer for you. I've done it loads of times (with RBS, but I'm sure it's the same for Nat West)0

I just spoke to an advisor who said payments cannot be done over the phone, what the hell...
Call them back up.....chances are the next person you speak to will sort it out for you. If not just keep trying until someone answers the phone who knows what you're taking about. Well thats my experiance with Natwest anyway. Nice friendly people but not a clue about banking and the products and services they offer.0 -
I know it can be done over the phone with RBS and I doubt whether Natwest is any different. As the previous poster said, try again and, if necessary, ask to speak to a team leader/manager.0

You can not make a transfer via the AVR however you can press option 0 to speak to an advisor who will make the transfer for you.
The only thing I would say is that if the payment has never been made before it wont go straight away, the adviser will dairise the payment to leave your account the next working day.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Yup, when I didn't have my card reader with me to set-up a new Payee they said it can only go by Faster Payments if you use Online Banking with the reader...
They still sent it though, went out the next Morning.David
