I have just joined experian to run a credit rating score check on myself as I am interested to see the result and there is a Judgement listed on there that is for £10,200 that I have no idea what it is for! It is down as being there since May '09 at my old address that I moved out of in Feb '09.

How do I find out what this is and how do I get it removed!!

I have found out the trust site it is registered to and searched for the details, it is coming up as an unsatisfied judgement of £10,200 ! What do I do now?

A creditor could still obtain a CCJ at a previous address if you hadn't informed them of a new address - basically they would send court papers to the address they held (your old address) and when you didn't respond the courts would given a forthwith judgement.

To find out who it is and establish if its money you owed you need to contact the court that issued the CCJ and ask for a copy of the judgement.

There s no reason I would owe anyone £10,200. I have never had a loan of any kind, the only debt I have every had is credit card and that is nowhere near £10,200.

Someone has obviously stolen my identity at my old address, it was a rented flat. What can I do to get it cleared?

What did Experian say when you raised your concern with them?

  • No, never had anything on hp.

Literally the only debt I have ever had is my credit card.

does it not tell you what company obtained the judgement?
if you moved out in feb 09 it seems to be very quick, 3 months for the judgement to be obtained. i thought you got default letters etc first.

it doesn't say the company name, just the court in Newcastle. I will give them a call on monday and see if they can give me details.

Yes best way, they will confirm the name of the company who obtained the judgement and your dispute would then be with the company who obtained said judgement.

They will have an obligation to fully investigate a fraud claim and apply to the courts for the judgement to be set aside if your identity is proven to have been stolen or the such like.

    Good luck!
