Income Support and Open University

Options
Good Evening all

My friend and I have been looking on the government website regarding the above. My Friend is on Income Support and is thinking of doing a Course with the Open University which I believe is 30 credits. He's convinced that he has to inform the DWP that he intends to start a course with the OU, but we couldn't find any info on it.

Does anyone know if this is correct?

He also receives DLA low care rate, and from what we read, he would get 100% help with his costs.

Hope someone could clarify for us.

Thank you
Regards,

I don't think OU study affects benefit at all and being in receipt of most benefits entitles you to your course fees paid, plus a grant towards study costs (I'm an OU graduate myself)
