Paying off credit with credit

Hi everyone!

I have £700 on a 0% credit card, there's 6 months left of the 0%

I have also just been accepted for a credit card with 0% on balance transfers for 9 months, and 0% on purchases for 12 months.

My question is if i were to pay off the £700 with this new credit card, would that be considered a balance transfer, cash withdrawal or purchase

When i say pay off, i mean logging onto the old cc online and paying it off with the new cc details.

This wont be a balance transfer would it, as i haven't arranged it with the new cc company or paid a transfer fee?

Confused

You can't do that. You'd need to ask Halifax to transfer the balance (which would incur a 3% balance transfer fee). However, is it worth it? I mean...a 3% fee for effectively 3 months extra 0%. You may as well wait until August and get another card surely?
