I thought I'd try internet explorer but a "best matches" dialogue box keeps opening after Google Searches. What's the point in that and is it easy to turn it off?
Thanks

Thanks Dave_C (I tried googling 'best matches'. Usually, when I google, I get what I'm looking for but not for 'best matches'.) Thanks again. T0

The little dialogue box just reappeared with "Recommended for you" as the title0

Now I'm struggling for ideas.
I think Google remembers the preferences via a cookie. Maybe you are clearing cookies, whic would clear the preferences.
Also IMO, the Google toolbar is basically evil and the spawn of the devil, and the cause of much hassle and can cause this problem.
With Firefox I use Googlebar lite add-on which is much better behaved.
Sorry to be not much help.0 -
Dave_C - well thanks for at least trying. I have been using Firefox and it's usually OK - with the exception for my hotmail account. Firefox always has problems with my hotmail - which is why I tried I.E.. I had never, previously, had experience, in I.E. of a pop-up dialogue box which opens (as you indicated as: and can cause this problem) in the bottom of the screen. I may need to uninstall Google0
