ADT - rip off bill help needed

Hi. I have an ADT installed and monitored burglar alarm. I have had a door moved and needed the key pad moving and a new door contact installed.
I phoned to get an engineer out but never thought to ask the price per hour- I know fatal.
The bill has arrived today £176 + vat for 2 hours work (44 mins travelling is also but not sure if that is chargeable )
They have also charged me £25 for cable £25 for door contact & £25 for 3 spare fobs. Feeling aggrieved over hourly rate I have checked out the prices and on the net they are £1.36, £6.14 and £15.24, so a massive £50+ plus vat overcharge.
I have phoned them today and they are due to ring back next week. The question is do I have a leg to stand on or I am I going to prison cos I am not paying it.
Any help greatly appreciated, and yes I will be moving alarm companies

Why aren't you paying it? As far as I can see you asked ADT to come and do a job for you?0

Get a man in and it is going to cost you money.
You have his time to pay for, his van to pay for, the office to pay for, the accounts clerk to pay for, his insurance to pay for (etc etc) and some profit for the company.
Why didnt you assess what parts you needed and buy them before they arrived? Why didnt yo do the work yourself?0 -
Yep sounds like you have been ripped off at them prices but sorry its your fault for not asking for a qoute before the work was doneHave a nice day0

just pay it or in your case dont pay it and go to prison,
what price were you expecting to pay ?
£176 isnt too bad for what you wanted doing0 -
The OP would not go to prison as it's a civil matterOne important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

hubby used to work for ADT, (and over 13 years working in this industry) says that the price they have charged you isnt really that bad
apparantly adt have 3 categories of maintenance - ie gold, silver and bronze, depending on which maintenance package you have will depend on labour and parts charges and also geographical location - emergency call out - out of hours work etc (and if you do actually have a maintenance contract)
you say you checked out the prices on the net of the items - most companies put a mark up on stock ,
you say you are leaving - make sure you check the small print of your contract as you may be tied into a contract for a set period and may have to pay more to leave. Can you see the mountains through the fog?0
